The indictment is out and you can see by looking at it the feds ( FBI and IRS) are totally following the money trail. They have all the money transfers listed and all the assets. Seems you can make millions of dollars off escort advertising, but i already knew that. The people arrested had cash in banks, a couple of cars but no real property at least if they do it hasn’t been found yet.
I cant express enough how important it is to pay your taxes. If you deposit 10K or more into a bank, the bank will report that money to the IRS and eventually you will have to account for that money and if it doesn’t match your income then you are in it deep with the government.though it might take them a few years to find you ans seize everything you have. In this case i’m guessing The Redbook people will lose it all and lets face it an ad site is a legal business. So it is all unnecessary and short sighted. They really screwed the pooch on this one and a lot of people are scrambling because of it.
If you work for the President Of The United States and you bang hookers, it’s probably not a good idea to create a secret Twitter account and taunt your bosses at the White House. It’s an even worse idea to also have a second secret Twitter account where you prolifically talk about how you pay for sex. That is however what one person did. Then he got caught. Then he made national media. Like a dumbass.
He created @NatSecWonk (get it national security wonk..*eyeroll*) and he used that Twitter account to denigrate his bosses and anyone else in the political realm he felt like. I guess people in national security circles and some journalist followed him. I guess he thought he was being clever but really it was more of a “your fat, fuck you” kinda Twitter stream, not exactly nuanced, it was mean and not clever. Juvenile and stupid. Lets just say he didn’t have a way with words.
The White House didn’t like this and eventually the dude was caught reportedly due to an internal sting and his name was splatted across the national media after he was fired of course because in the capacity he worked in for the US Gov he wasn’t allowed to have any social media let alone a secret Twitter mocking the people he worked for. As if that wasn’t bad enough, this mental giant was also a prolific whore fucker better known as a “hobbyist”. The kind of hobbyist that thinks because he fucks a lot of women for money that it makes him special. He had a board presence on the largest hooker review site in existence, the one that boasts a bizillion reviews of escorts. He thought he was a big man on the whore fucking campus. He also had a whore fucker Twitter and was known as @DCHobbyist. That’s what several national news outlets reported. Yes, DC Hobbyist the same asshat that so many sex workers had to block on Twitter because he stuck his nose in their business and often tried to peddle his whore fucking knowledge to them. Was both @NatSecWonk and @DCHobbyist and was so stupid that he got caught. It’s almost like this moron wanted to get caught. He thought he was smarter than everyone else, clearly a moron but in his own mind he was a super genius. Bonus his wife whose name now was splashed in the media is well-known republican aid. So there’s that.
DCHobbyist is pompous, arrogant, and self-serving. Hes also rumored to the be the poison pen writer of a blog post that has since been removed on the Slixa blog where he teaches other whore fuckers how to manipulate and connive and lie for a discount for fucking whores. Lovely. He’s that guy, the one that acts likes he’s all rah-rah sex worker but really hes playing a part and has an agenda, hoping that if he perceived as a supporter he’ll get some nookie on the cheap. Oh and he writes reviews, lots of reviews, reviews that are so hyper critical of women that many escorts had declined to meet with him based on what he’s written.
The NatSecWonk Twitter was deleted but the DCHobbyist one was only locked down and recently it came to my attention that he’s tweeting to hookers again (and stupid girls are tweeting back). Maybe hes bored cuz his wife kicked his unbelievably irresponsible ass out, for not just getting caught being a fruit-loop and getting fired but for all the whore fucking he did and all the bragging he did about said whore fucking… in writing. What a prince charming. It seems he’s starving for attention and clearly he’s deranged and can’t stop. He couldn’t stop mocking the highest office in the land, an office for which he worked. He couldn’t stop himself from being a douche to hookers, he couldn’t keep his whore fucking to himself and he humiliated his family. He was the subject of a White House investigation which got him fired, named in national media and humiliated for his stupidity but yet he still is trying to be somebody in the hooker scene. He should be shunned, hes made us all look bad, he brought scrutiny upon us all and he did it because he needed to feel important and special. Anyone who engages with him is taking a major risk and in a such risky business why in the fuck would you want to bring on more than you have to. It’s not like the idiot has any money to spend.. he got fired and i really doubt anyone will be hiring his dumb ass anytime soon.
Reviews, reviews, reviews.. It’s all the rage to rage against reviews. Ok, I get it they are problematic but lets not forget that potential clients sometimes read them and use them when choosing an escort to see. We don’t have to like that but it is a fact. Lets also not forget that as much as we may not be comfortable with reviews raging on men who use them from the ultra obsessive reviewer to the casual reader just makes us look like the crazy ones. I’m serious and I know that seems strange coming from me. The chick who in the last decade went to war with review culture and put my money where my mouth was by putting my actual working name on it. However there’s a huge difference between shining a light on review culture, how it affects an escorts business and especially how it makes someone feel to be reviewed in a straight forth manor and being a raging cunt to every man who’s ever read a review and had the unmitigated nerve to say so.
Reviews are currently being hotly debate over on that collective sex worker blog that’s “One Big Service Piece” people are raging and people are being thoughtful and many people adding their 2 cents to the conversation. I do see a theme though, if any man has an opinion or wants to participate in the conversation be he sending in a email in response to a call for entries or just simply posting a “Hey I never thought of it this way before” comment on a blog post he will get demeaned and belittled. Clearly there are sex workers who can not see beyond their own need to feel slighted, insulted or whatever their personal issue is (it feels and looks personal) to see that maybe, just maybe some client thoughts and perspectives might be insightful, useful or at the very least good to know.
Sex workers are only half of the equation …. sex workers need clients to yanno actually work and if you are such a raging cunt that you cant take a breath before you unleash your pent up anger and furry on some dude who’s just trying to be part of the conversation and may actually be agreeing with you. Well then maybe you need to go into actual therapy. Men are not the enemy, clients are not the enemy. Yes, there is much change that could happen that would improve the lives of sex workers, but feeding into the stereotype that we are all just man hating cunts out to take their money and don’t really give a flying fuck about them, in my humble opinion not the best way to go about making any kind of change. Speak your mind, tell your truth but if your truth is all “fuck you, I hate you” then maybe you need a new line of work
Yes, there will be hookers but will there be ballons?
I’ve written about hooker meet and greets before, I’m sure this wont be the last time I write about them but let me say this loud and clear… Escort meet and greets are not safe! As further proof how these functions have taken a dive in the safety arena (they took a dive in the class arena long ago) is the latest from New York Magazine “Johns Night Out” Where a reporter gains access to an “exclusive” meet and greet he heard about on the largest hooker review website out there, you know the one that boasts a bizillion reviews of escorts. A public notice was posted about the upcoming event and it appears the reporter asked for an invite and got one.
If a reporter can gain access then so can law enforcement. Busting meet and greets is happening more often then ever before. Yes, there was a time when meet an greets were safer then they are today. I have been to them, hell I’ve even thrown a couple way back in the day but times have changed and people need to understand that the risk of attending a meet and greet has increased 10 fold. Escorting is a risky business, its not legal and these parties might have had a purpose once upon a time but now reporters are going to them and writing about how that hooker was making out with a client/potential client (gross) and how hookers and johns excused themselves and left to go to locally bought hotel rooms to conduct business. That’s exactly how some people in the Midwest just got arrested after attending a meet and greet sponsored by a local Midwest board.
Is it really worth the risk?
This New York based meet and greet also cost money, according to the reporter 120 bucks a head with a count of about 75 men attending (ladies don’t pay at these events) Lets do the math, that comes to $9,000 but of course the host is only doing this out of some altruistic need to match make escorts and their potential clients not because he’s a hobbyist who’s once again trying very hard to get a piece of the financial action, no its out of the kindness of his heart. He also seems to have no ability to screen potential guests as evidenced by the big, flashy, splashy article in New York Magazine. As escorts, screening is the very thin line that protects us from harm and arrest. Don’t give that task over to someone you don’t know, someone who doesn’t have the skills to keep you safe, someone who’s got motives other then safety. Don’t hand that very important safety element over to some hobbyist dude who is looking to make a buck off your attendance and likely is trying to up his profile with the other hobbyists in the virtual locker room that is hooker message boards. Meet and greets are not safe places to be. Yeah I know the old line thats thrown about over and over “they will generate more business” Yeah really? Will they generate enough business to overcome the cost of a lawyer if you are arrested? Will they generate enough income to overcome the stigma of having a permanent arrest record for prostitution? Are they worth the family problems you might encounter if your name is all over the Internet as a known prostitute? Will they generate enough income to make up for being splashed across the nations magazines or newspapers? Yes, this reporter only used user-names and did not publish pictures with his article, will the next reporter do the same? Would TMZ be so restrained? Hardly.
As escorts we take great care to minimize our risk in a very risky business. The writing is on the wall for escort meet and greets and its scrawled in thick bold black letters.
It was a favorite among touring girls and locals in smaller cities alike and a few months back when Escorts.com announced they were shutting down everyone speculated why. The parent company National A1 Advertising out of Pennsylvania (who also owns hot-movies) was recently raided and in the news. So rumors were rampant. the facts are no one knew why they were raided and which companies were involved and no one knew why the subsequent announced shut down of Escorts.com. That Is until now.
It seems the good folks over at Escorts.com couldn’t keep their noses clean and used the operation for money laundering.
“A plea agreement filed Tuesday at U.S. District Court in Williamsport, Pa., said the companies have agreed to forfeit nearly $5 million, pay a $1.5 million fine and serve 18 months probation.” ~Xbiz
Well there you have it, why they shut down. The company as a result have surrendered the domain name and many escorts and their clients lost a great resource. Escorts.com was well liked because they offered advertising and modest reviews but no message boards. The review system allowed for those being reviewed to write a response if they so chose. It was a nice balance of power, that so many escort review sites do not have. It gave escorts a bit of a voice and a little control over their own business.
Its also another example of how escort support services can’t see to keep their noses clean. Prostitution is illegal and thus even above board business often cant seem to operate on the straight and narrow. From photographers who want blow jobs in exchange for photoshoots, to web designers that over charge and then dont deliver, to advertising venues that get busted for money laundering, it’s frustrating for those of us who are trying to run a business and dont want to have to deal with events or situations that are shady because people think they can get away with it because of who we are and what we do is illegal. The only solution is decriminalization… now
